At Platinum Auto Service, we specialize in the complex systems that transfer power from your engine to the pavement. Whether you are driving a high-performance European sedan or a mountain-ready Subaru, your drivetrain is a masterpiece of engineering that requires precision care.
As Littleton’s local specialists, we provide expert diagnostics and repairs for CV axles, differentials, transfer cases, and drive shafts. We understand the specific demands that Colorado’s steep grades and snowy winters place on your gears and 4WD systems, and we are here to ensure your vehicle delivers power reliably every time you hit the gas.
Drivetrain issues can range from subtle vibrations to loud mechanical failures. Don’t ignore these red flags:
Clicks and Pops: Sharp clicking sounds while turning are a classic sign of failing CV axles.
Shudders & Vibrations: Feeling a “shiver” through the floorboards during acceleration often points to a worn driveshaft or U-joint.
Whining or Howling: High-pitched noises from under the car can indicate low fluid or worn bearings in your differentials.
Fluid Leaks: Dark, thick oil spots on your driveway can signal a leaking seal in the transfer case or differential.
Binding or Resistance: Feeling like the wheels are “scrubbing” during tight parking lot turns is a common symptom of AWD system issues.
We offer dealership-level expertise for the unique drivetrain requirements of European and All-Wheel Drive vehicles:
Subaru AWD Maintenance: We specialize in servicing Subaru’s unique center differentials and ensuring your CVT or manual drivetrain is perfectly synced.
European AWD Diagnostics: Precision care for Audi Quattro, BMW xDrive, and Mercedes 4MATIC systems, including specialized fluid exchanges.
CV Axle & Boot Replacement: Protecting your joints from the salt and road grime of Colorado winters.
Differential Service: We drain and refill your front and rear differentials with the exact synthetic gear oils required by your manufacturer.
Transfer Case Repair: Ensuring your 4WD or AWD system engages and disengages smoothly when you need traction most.
Most general shops treat all drivetrains the same. At Platinum Auto Service, we know better:
Precision Fluid Specs: European and Subaru drivetrains are incredibly sensitive to fluid types. We use only manufacturer-approved synthetic lubricants to prevent internal “chatter” and wear.
Advanced Diagnostics: We use specialized scanning tools to talk to your vehicle’s AWD controllers, identifying electronic faults before they become mechanical failures.
Digital Transparency: Every inspection comes with a digital report. If we find a torn CV boot or a leaking seal, we’ll send you a photo so you can see the issue for yourself.
2-Year / 24,000-Mile Warranty: We stand behind our drivetrain repairs, giving you the confidence to head into the mountains in any weather.

Don’t wait for a broken axle or a seized differential to leave you stranded. Whether you need a routine fluid exchange or a complex AWD repair, trust the experts at Platinum Auto Service in Littleton.

Picked up a used BMW X3 and they did an inspection and re-tapped a lug bolt that rusted for free It was greatly appreciated, so they will get my service with the car for the remainder of my ownership/it’s lifetimePosted on Google Greg BurnettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've struggled to find a good shop for my Porsche, the search is over! Every interaction I've had with them so far has been excellent. Their communication, professionalism and work have all been outstanding. The invoice was right in line with the quote, not a given when the issue is a little mysterious. They got the work done fast and I couldn't be happier. The next time my car needs a shop, I know exactly where to take it.Posted on Google Julie ZimmerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you have an European car, Platinum Auto is your Shop. Most honest and reasonably priced shop around! I first brought my VW Passat back in 2022 when the heat in my car went out resulting in my engine to overheat. I went to the local VW dealer and they quoted me $900 just to replace the heater core, not including labor. I brought my car into Platinum Auto and they told me that my heater core just needed to be cleaned. The total cost was ~$250 including a coolant flush. I will never bring my car elsewhere! I have since comeback for normal servicing and other repairs. They are super flexible with their schedule and usually can fit me in at the last minute. There's also a comfortable waiting room with desks if you need to wait for your car. Thank you Sean and team for being a trustworthy auto shop!Posted on Google MarkTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very detailed diagnosis on my car.
